Tell us a little bit about you. Things you like outside of school, etc.…

I like to be outdoors and spend time with my family. I love to read. I enjoy going to museums, art galleries, testing my creative ability by creating new things, and looking for new places to eat around Houston.

Give us an idea of your education passion, can you tell us something of why you chose education…

I chose to be a teacher because I wanted to be the person I needed when I was growing up. I didn’t have a teacher who truly inspired or motivated me, which made it difficult to go to school. I wanted school to be the place I ran to to to get away from the chaos at home. Because of this, I did poorly and my self-esteem was at an all time low. Therefore, it was difficult for me to go to college. No one noticed though. I see many children living my same life, going through the things I went through. A way for me to make an impact in my community is to be the person I needed for those children.
