Our featured member profile this time belongs to Candice Rodriguez. Hailing from the Alamo City originally, (San Antonio for the uninitiated), Candice said “I came to Houston shortly after I was born!” She grew up in Houston and attended local schools plus doing her college work at Lone Star, Texas A&M and Houston Community College. With initial work and a goal of working into the field of criminal justice, this took a detour as she shifted into business and earned her cosmetology license. Her horizon shifted once again when she ran a successful social media company which saw her working with businesses to create personal content that gets attention and builds future clients.
Today Candice is the operations and owner of NaturalCare Cleaning and NaturalCare Pest Control which was founded in 2017. She takes great pride in her business and balances that with an ongoing determination of being a “good mom.” Her definition of a good mom is for her children to go out into the world and become nice, loving people that do good for the world.” Emphatically she says, “In addition, they are expected “to recycle – they better recycle!”
Well, she is not only a good mom, because she and her husband have adopted in 2017 and again in 2019. Currently she has 12, 9, 4, and 2 year old children. Fostering is so important that she plans to continue after her kids are in school.
So, business owner, wife, and mom to 4 children, one would think that Candice’s time is pretty limited. Not so. She enjoys reading about home improvement, self-betterment and ways to improve her management skills. This outgoing “social butterfly” joined in 2008 and is an Ambassador and Chair of the Chamber’s HYP committee. In only a short while she has established many new business relationships. She joined the Chamber “to grow her business and create referrals for her clients;” and of course, she is a true advocate for small businesses.
The Chamber is proud to have dynamic and motivated members like Candice who “jump in with both feet” Thank you Candice for being a valued member and “Exceptional Mom!”
