Education Luncheon Recognizes Deserving Students & Educators

“Courage: Making the Better Choice”Education Luncheon was held May 21 with Jim (Mattress Mack) McIngvale as the featured speaker.

The Chamber awarded 17 scholarships to deserving area high school students who will use them to pursue their goals and dreams.  Special recognition was given to Educators of the Year as well as Teachers of the Year.  The Chamber also honored area seniors entering military service upon graduation.

The Chamber’s Education Committee wishes to thank the following schools, students and interns for their work to help make this event special: Arabic Immersion School, Katherine Smith Elementary, Frank M. Black Golden Knight Color Guard and Jesse Espinosa trumpet soloist, Garden Oaks Montessori “Leader in Me” Singers and Director Kenneth Clayborne, University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work Field Interns, BNI, Women’s POWER Network, Willie Diefenbach-Jones of SendOutCards and the JROTC Instructors and Recruiters.
