Tell us a little bit about you. Things you like outside of school, etc.…

I started my education career when I was in college. By that time, I worked as an assistant teacher in different public schools in my country, Puerto Rico. Also, I worked as a theatre teacher in different art and dance studios in San Juan. In 2014 I started my journey as a Spanish teacher, I worked in private and public schools in my island. In 2016 I moved to Texas and did my certification here. I have taught Spanish I, Spanish II, Spanish III, Spanish IV, Heritage Speakers and AP Spanish. Also, I have experience working in community colleges in Beaumont, Texas.

I love to share my culture with my students and learn about their cultures and things that they like. I incorporate music, dance, theatre and art in my class. I always try to use different ways to teach the students and to teach them to appreciate the Spanish language. I enjoy to learn about other cultures, listen to music, dance and exercise

Give us an idea of your education passion, can you tell us something of why you chose education…

I chose to be a teacher because I believe is one of the most important professions since we are in charge of the future minds of the world. We have the responsibility to teach all the tools that are important and necessary to go outside.

To help you feel better what do you like? Card, Starbucks, candy, prayer, etc.… list as many things as you wish

  • Prayers for my students, their families, my co workers, administration and my family.
  • A gift card to buy supplies for the classroom and to do an activity at the end of the semester for the students.

To help you with supplies, what items are you wanting?

  • A white board (as big as it is possible). This will help me accommodate it at home in my garage over a special easel to teach better during live sessions and pre-recorded video lessons.
  • Expo markers for my white board.
