December Breakfast Connection
December 14 @ 7:00 am - 8:30 am
Please join us for our December Breakfast Connection which will feature Samantha Hernandez, Social Enterprise Director for Elijah Rising. Houston is #1 in many things, but sadly, it also has the distinction of being the main port of entry and the hub of sex trafficking in the United States. Elijah Rising is ending sex trafficking and sexual exploitation by equipping a new generation of justice warriors to confront culture through prayer, awareness, intervention and aftercare in the spirit of Isaiah 1:17.
Sam is a graduate of Houston Baptist University and an advocate for the movement to end all forms of sexual exploitation. She is passionate about seeing a generation free from Porn Culture and Sex Addiction. She began
her work as a modern-day abolitionist 5 years ago by directing and leading teams to do outreach and
intervention throughout the city. She was also responsible for all of the initial branding of Elijah Rising. Now, she directs the Social Enterprise department of Elijah Rising and Kendleton Farms and creates beautifully crafted, locally sourced, goods that empower survivors of sex trafficking to learn viable job skills while earning a sustainable income.
We invite you to hear more about this tragic issue in our city and what Elijah Rising is doing to fight back.
Enjoy networking with your fellow Chamber members, share your business concept with someone you’ve never met, hear about a new business concept, and build on those relationships with folks you met at the last meeting.
