Following in the footsteps of last year’s Gateway to Government luncheon, this year’s promises to be even bigger and better. This year’s event features a debate on a very timely issue – Immigration – specifically SB4 (the “sanctuary cities bill”). Diverse opinions abound on the actions taken by the present administration, and those actions filter down to the reality that Houstonians can be greatly impacted. We invite you to see and hear a spirited debate on the issues and their effects on implementation.
The luncheon represents a unique venue blending elected officials, governmental representatives, politicians, envoys from significant bureaus and many more who serve the public. Representatives of city, county, state and national officials will be on-site manning informational tables and making themselves available to attendees for questions regarding their operations, policies, and giving advice on the best way to interact with them. This year’s participants can help you though the bureaucratic maze and provide useful insights on such things as permits, alcohol regulations, TXDot plans, airport planning, HPD, Houston Fire Department and access to local elected officials.
