Tell us a little bit about you. Things you like outside of school, etc.…

I like to spend time with my family, friends, and pets (one large dog and 5 cats).  I love going to restaurants, the theater and the movies.  However, I am quite happy staying home reading and watching the Rockets, UH sports, the Astros, and Netflix, too!

Give us an idea of your education passion, can you tell us something of why you chose education…

I became a teacher in the early ‘70s.  My motivation was to make the world a better place.  I believe my students have made me a better person, and I hope I have helped them become better in various ways, too.

I enjoy being with adolescents and I love my subjects—I was first an English teacher and later a French teacher.  I love literature and learning about different places in the world, especially those where French is used.  I love grammar, vocabulary, how people communicate.

Teaching is a challenging job, but it’s always interesting and never boring!

To help you feel better what do you like? Card, Starbucks, candy, prayer, etc.… list as many things as you wish

My favorite “de-stressor” is to read a good book.  I also like coffee, Starbucks or any good “store brand.”

To help you with supplies, what items are you wanting?

When I can teach in the classroom again, I like to do “old school” activities with markers, construction paper, glue, and index cards.  The large presentation-size sticky notes (suitable for display in the classroom) are nice to have, too.

Pencils and pens are always appreciated
